Scotland is a great country for mountain biking of all kinds. It has the 7 Stanes Mountain Bike parks located within their Forestry and developed by the Forestry Commission. These were fantastic parks to ride in with really well built quality trails that stood up to the terrible weather conditions you were subjected to riding in. They ensure a fun day out and range of skills to be honed or developed.
Scotland also has an great network of trails that wind up into the Mountains, passes and bogs where you can have an adventurous days riding in the Scottish Wilderness getting soaked and mud splattered and be rewarded by hot food and beer in a pub full of great characters.
We toured around Scotland in our Dodgy Campervan looking much like pikeys, but enjoying a G&T at the end of a ride and waking up to herds of deer grazing around the van in the morning.
