Anthotypes and Chlorophyll Prints

Leaves provide a surface on which to make photographs, and chlorophyll that can be extracted to provide a photosensitive medium.  This has been an important body of work for me as I have a concern for the environment and wished to find a way to express this using photography.  I think it is important that artists consider their own impact on the environment as much as big industry should be expected too.

Whiles the sun is the creator of these works, it will also destroy them.  These works are inherently fragile and so they are encased in a folding frame to stop them from degrading.  The viewer has to interact with the work to discover the images.  In the process they may rediscover their wonder and appreciation for the processes of nature.
