What I enjoy most is spending time in nature and making things. Photography has been a wonderful way to capture, explore and learn about the wild places and spaces we live in, adventure in, encroach on and recharge in. Making things is hugely important to me particularly handcrafts which has led me to introduce embroidery into my images that I print on fabric, this brings a tactile dimension into my work that I had been longing for.
I have explored different methods of printing in my journey to reconcile my wish to tread lightly on the earth with my enjoyment of making photographic images. In a desire to practice what I preach I have found leaves and fantastic medium for using to print with and onto, something I hope to develop further in the future.
I studied Design majoring in Photography in Wellington graduating in 2006. I have worked freelance photographing weddings, taking portraits, giving lectures and workshops on alternative printing techniques, publishing outdoors adventures and having exhibitions.
